Chicken rolls are a delicious and easy-to-prepare snack or appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. They are made by wrapping a mixture of chicken and vegetables in a crispy, flaky dough and then baking them in the oven until they are golden brown. In this recipe, we will walk you through how to make chicken rolls step by step.

CHICKEN ROLL

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ cup water
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking powder. Add the water and vegetable oil, and stir until a dough forms.
  • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for a few minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  • In the meantime, prepare the filling. Heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion, red bell pepper, and garlic, and cook for 5-7 minutes until they are soft and fragrant.
  • Add the shredded chicken, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper, and stir until the mixture is well combined. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the chicken is heated through.
  • Roll out the dough into a thin rectangle, about ¼ inch thick. Spoon the chicken mixture onto the center of the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  • Fold the sides of the dough over the filling, and then roll it up tightly from one end to the other.
  • Place the chicken roll seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet, and brush the top with beaten egg. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top, if desired.
  • Bake the chicken roll for 20-25 minutes, or until it is golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the chicken roll from the oven and serve in flat dish with ketchup.
